Mock Testing FAQ
We can provide mock testers with almost every standardized test: SAT; ACT; Lower, Middle & Upper Level ISEE; Middle & Upper Level SSAT; and SHSAT. We do sometimes administer other types of tests upon request. Bespoke does not currently offer PSAT mock tests. We suggest that students preparing for the PSAT take a full-length SAT instead for the most complete diagnostic profile possible. We work hard to give our students the most realistic testing experience possible. Some of the exams we use are official, released versions obtained from the test makers, while others are exams we have designed ourselves to be highly representative of the test’s content and format. We offer mock testing every weekend and on some weekdays, including many school holidays. See upcoming test dates on our Mock Test Calendar or log in to your Bespoke Account for all available test dates. Our proctors time and supervise mock tests over Google Meet. During the mock, the proctor presents a whiteboard showing the current section, its duration and its time. Proctors remind students when 5 minutes are remaining in each section, just like the real test. Two days before the session, mock testers receive a testing invitation that contains the test, bubble sheet, test link, proctor’s name and email, and a troubleshooting guide. Students should print their testing materials before their session. We suggest registering a week in advance to secure a seat at your preferred session. See upcoming test dates on our Mock Test Calendar or log in to your Bespoke Account for all available test dates. If you are unable to register because the deadline has passed, contact our office. We cannot accommodate same-day requests for morning sessions. You are welcome to request a specific test, or form code, before the mock session. If we hold the exam in our inventory, we will administer it on your student’s mock day. While we cannot score exams not in our database, we are happy to proctor them. If we do not carry your preferred test, your student can bring in a copy to be proctored. Please contact our Mock Testing Team to request an exam. You will not be charged for cancellations made through your student’s Bespoke Account up to 24 hours before a test. If you need to cancel your student’s mock after the deadline, please contact our Mock Testing Team. Extra fees may apply for late cancellations. Absolutely! We have students who test with us and need 50% or even 100% extra time. You will indicate your student’s extra time accommodation when you register for a specific session. Students with extra time must sign up for 9:00 am or 10:00 am seatings. (Manhattan also allows 2:30 pm extended time testing). We have students who test with extra breaks and multiple-day accommodations, among others. These must be indicated on the registration form prior to testing. If you have questions about setting up accommodations, please contact our office. Register for each session it will take your student to complete the mock. (i.e. If your student takes one section per day, register for 4 separate sessions. If your student takes two sections per day, register for 2 separate sessions.) If your student’s multiple-day testing accommodation is not reflected in their Bespoke Account, contact the Mock Testing Team to update the approved accommodations. We always have pens and sharpened pencils available in our offices. While we have TI-30 scientific calculators for students to use, we recommend students bring and practice with the calculators they plan to use on test day. We have plenty of snacks at our offices, and there is always a full water cooler available. Students will be asked to refrain from eating refreshments during the exam, except during breaks. Students are welcome to bring a water bottle and are advised to bring their own calculator if their test allows one. We provide snacks and sharpened pencils. If you need to cancel your student’s mock after the deadline, please call the proctor extension at your student’s mock testing site. Extra fees may apply for late cancellations. Your student should print the test booklet and bubble sheet before the day of the mock test. The test answers cannot be recorded electronically. The Google Meet testing room link is provided in the invitation email. No login or software download is necessary to use Google Meet—your student can just click the link in the invitation. Students then provide their first and last names for attendance and are admitted to the room. First, refer to the Online Testing Guide in the invitation email. If your student is still unable to join the testing room, reply-all to the invitation email. At the end of the mock test, the proctor’s email address will appear in the chat window. When the mock ends, your student will take pictures or a scan of the bubble sheet and email it to the proctor. Students remain in the virtual testing room until the proctor gives confirmation that the completed bubble sheet has been received. All testers are required to leave their cameras on to protect the integrity of the session. Prior to starting the test, students are asked to pin their proctor’s screen so the proctor will be the primary display. We do not record any mock testing sessions. If you need to cancel your student’s mock after the deadline, please reply-all to the invitation email. Extra fees may apply for late cancellations. Contact the Mock Testing Team with your request to self-proctor. Include your student’s name and the test type. We will email you the test booklet, bubble sheet, and proctoring instructions. Your student should email a photo or PDF of the completed bubble sheet to us. Before sending, make sure it includes your student’s full name, the test form code, and whether your student wants standard or rush scoring. We believe students get the best practice in a realistic testing environment supervised by a skilled proctor. We advocate for proctored exams and offer them several days throughout the week. We can also arrange a private session for an additional fee. If your student is unable to attend a proctored session, a self-proctored mock test is a great alternative. Score reports are emailed to students and their tutors as PDF files three business days after the mock test date. Bespoke also offers rush scoring for a small additional charge, which enables students to receive their test results within 24 hours. The detailed score report shows which questions a student got right and wrong. In most cases, our score reports also show the question type and difficulty. The report can also indicate where students ran out of time or were under time pressure. Our tutors use score reports to help them hone in on the topics and skills that will most help your student improve. Families are also welcome to arrange a free consultation with our client services team to discuss mock test results. Mock tests are one of the best ways to get comfortable with the timing of an exam, to experience the exam’s content and structure, and to see how preparation for the exam is going. We suggest a minimum of 4-6 full-length mock tests before taking any official test. Bespoke’s detailed analysis of these mocks will help your student zero in on opportunities for improvement well before test day. Our smallest classrooms seat two students and our largest classrooms seat up to six students. Proctors are stationed at the front of the office and check on each room regularly.
