While growing up in New York City, Tim attended The Horace Mann School for fifteen years. He holds a BA in Psychology from Yale College and an MA in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Tim has taught science and test prep for many years, from middle school through graduate school. Prior to founding Bespoke in 2004, he worked in the corporate offices of Kaplan Test Prep helping to train teachers and write course curricula. He is the original author of Kaplan's GRE Biology retail book and currently an adjunct professor in the science department of SUNY's Fashion Institute of Technology. In 2016, Tim handed the running of Bespoke's day-to-day operations over to CEO Isaac Foster and his excellent administrative team.
Isaac attended Williams College, where he majored in English. He was a New York City Teaching Fellow at JHS 13 in East Harlem and earned a Masters in Education from Brooklyn College. Isaac then worked for Kaplan Test Prep in Paris and London, teaching the GMAT and SAT as well as managing Kaplan’s 60-member European teaching team. Isaac is responsible for the quality of Bespoke’s teaching and tutoring programs, and supervises hiring and training of Bespoke’s tutoring team. Isaac is a dedicated teacher whose commitment to his students and love of transmitting knowledge are instantly apparent. He teaches the ISEE, SSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT and French. Isaac is an avid runner who has completed 9 marathons, including Paris and New York.
Chip is a graduate of The Fieldston School and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design & Technology from Parsons School of Design. Chip is a highly-skilled web and database developer, who has built from scratch a multi-layered database customized for Bespoke that allows us to interact with parents, students, and tutors in an unprecedented manner. Student progress on mock tests and throughout all tutoring sessions is tracked so that Bespoke can give students a personalized experience that is second-to-none. Chip is the creative force behind Bespoke's ability to communicate via the internet with our clients and staff, and he is constantly adding to Bespoke's technological capabilities.
While at Philadelphia's Germantown Friends School, Dan won a National Merit Scholarship and the Senior Award. At Harvard he received his B.A. cum laude in Biological Anthropology, served as President of the Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club, and won the Louise Donovan Award for outstanding contributions in the arts. Dan has tutored with Bespoke in NYC for more than ten years, working with students on the SAT and ACT exams and on the ISEE, SSAT and SHSAT tests. He also tutors Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and all levels of mathematics for high school coursework and for the SAT Subject Tests. His all-around expertise (including in History, English, Writing, and Spanish) has supported his significant work for Bespoke in homework and organizational help. As Bespoke's Chief Operating Officer he oversees the hiring, training, and management of tutors, family feedback, and the recording and sharing of Bespoke's institutional experience and best practices to optimally support all of Bespoke's tutors and families in their ongoing educational goals.
Peter is a New York City native who attended the Bank Street School and graduated from Fieldston. After attending Emerson College in Boston, Peter followed in his family's footsteps and acted at some of the top theaters in the country. For nearly a decade, Peter has managed many functions at Bespoke: he is Bespoke's foremost liaison to all of its U.S. families, setting up tutor-student pairings for families across the country, coordinating mock testing and classes at Bespoke's multiple offices, and following up with tutors and families to make sure that tutoring is going well. Peter's familiarity with Bespoke's families, tutors, and procedures helps ensure the personalized touch that Bespoke is known for.
Zachary grew up in New York City, where he attended The Fieldston School. After graduating with honors in Political Science from Lehigh University, he worked for a production company in Manhattan which created programming for the ESPN network. Later, he produced documentaries for a series that received two Emmy awards. Simultaneously, he worked at the New York offices of Bespoke Education for several years. After receiving a Masters Degree in Documentary Studies from the New School in NYC, he moved to Paris where he continues to make documentaries. Zachary has worked for Bespoke Education for more than six years and is currently the Director of Bespoke Education's program in Paris.
Elan grew up in New York, where he attended The Fieldston School and graduated from Stuyvesant High School. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Northwestern University, with a specialization in Genetics and Molecular Biology. During his college years, he did extensive laboratory work in physiology and endocrinology. For the last ten years, Elan has been preparing NYC high school students for the SAT, the ACT, and the Biology and Math Subject Tests. Elan works full-time in our Upper East Side office, analyzing standardized tests and developing Bespoke's test prep books and curricula.
Lee, a long-time resident of Westchester County, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature (magna cum laude), a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Information Systems (with honors) from Pace University, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Curriculum and Instruction from SUNY Albany. Lee is a Teaching Supervisor at Columbia University’s Teachers College and former English teacher in the Irvington School District where she instituted the 11th grade AP Language and Composition program, taught AP Literature and Composition, Creative Writing, and English grades 8 - 12. She taught courses at both Pace University and SUNY Albany as an adjunct instructor. Lee’s writing credits include articles in The New York Times, New York Family Magazine, and children’s books published by Paulist Press. She serves on the Teacher Advisory Board of Young Audience of New York’s Literature to Life program. Lee has many years of experience tutoring students in the SAT, ACT, Literature Subject Test, ISEE, and GRE Exams and assists high school students and college students in preparing application essays for college and graduate school, respectively.
Jermaine is responsible for all accounting and bookkeeping functions including billing/invoicing, reimbursements, payroll and maintenance of financial and HR records/systems. Jermaine is a graduate of Baruch’s College’s Zicklin School of Business where he obtained a BBA in Accounting. He also holds a MS in Information Systems from Pace University. Jermaine began his professional career at Seligman Data Corporation in roles ranging from Staff Accountant to Assistant Controller. Jermaine has a passion for education and is particularly interested in the academic development of special needs learners. He lives with his beautiful wife, Jirrel and 2 wonderful children, Joshua and Jasmine.
Gary attended Yale University where he graduated cum laude with distinction in Theatre Studies and received the Richard B. Sewall Cup for outstanding scholarly achievement with creative promise. Hailing originally from Austin, TX, Gary has extensive teaching and tutoring experience, including middle and high school English, math, history, Spanish, Latin, and college application prep. Gary has an exceptional combination of emotional and analytical intelligence, and has a significant track record of academic and exam success with his students. Gary's specialty is empowering and energizing students to do their best work in school and on the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, and many SAT Subject Tests and AP Exams. As Tutor Manager, Gary guides other tutors in their implementation of best practices for the success of their students.
As Bespoke's Director of School Programs, Peregrine works closely with our institutional partners to develop tailored curriculum for their test-prep classes. Peregrine grew up in Washington, DC and attended Sidwell Friends School for thirteen years --- her fourteenth was spent at School Year Abroad in Viterbo, Italy, where she lived with a host family and traveled with fellow Classics students around the country. She received her BA in East Asian Studies from Yale College and studied in China twice as a Richard U. Light Fellow. During a summer with the Yale-China Association Service Internship, Peregrine co-taught at an elementary school in Sichuan with local university students. Since graduating, she has tutored Mandarin at all levels. Peregrine is an actor and the director of the devising theater ensemble The Associates. She is a devotee of Latin grammar, an advocate of English syntax, and an enthusiastic tutor of the ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, ACT, literature, writing, history, Italian, and organizational skills.
Lauren grew up in New York City, where she graduated from The Spence School. After receiving her B.A. in English from Wesleyan University, Lauren went on to Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where she received her M.F.A. in Acting. Lauren works as a speech and dialect coach for film and theater, and as an actor has developed new work with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Lauren specializes in prep for the ISEE, SSAT, SAT, and ACT, as well as study/organizational skills and academic tutoring in English and math.
